D'Olive Bay Watershed 2019 RSA and WRAP Habitat Assessment

Dataset extent

Rapid Stream Assessment (RSA) and Wetland Rapid Assessment Procedure (WRAP) scores were determined during 2019 field surveys in the D'Olive Bay sub-watersheds, principally at stream restoration sites and areas upstream and downstream. RSA attributes include canopy cover, local watershed erosion, sediment deposition, habitat availability, habitat smothering, channel alteration, channel sinuosity, bank stability, bank vegetative protection, riparian buffer width, riparian vegetative quality, and macroinvertebrate quality assessed along 100-m reaches. Each attribute is scored as Poor (+0), Moderate (+2), or Good (+4), and the total points are reported for each assessed site as the proportion of a 50-point maximum. WRAP assesses six functional wetland values, including wetland hydrology, water quality input and treatment, wetland vegetation ground cover, wetland overstory/shrub canopy, adjacent upland buffer, and wildlife utilization. Each function is scored based on the field assessment. A cumulative value for the condition of each wetland assessment area is generated ranging from 3 (best) to 0 (worst). The overall score is expressed as a percentage, ranging from 0% - 100% (0.0 - 1.0). RSA and WRAP scores ranging from 0.0 to 0.50 are poor quality; 0.51 to 0.75 are fair quality; and 0.76 to 1.0 are good quality.
